Internationaly recoginzed Martitime Expert,
Mr. C. Thomas Burke, (Chairman of the National
Maritime Security Discussion Agreement) delivered
the Conference Keynote address at the Oct 2007 CSCM
session in UAE.
Mr. Burke has unparalleled experience in this area.
Since 1997, he has served as Senior Advisor to the
President and CEO of K Line America, Inc. K Line is
an ocean carrier with a fleet of over 400 ships
serving the world. K Line's headquarters are in
Tokyo, Japan.
In 2003, Mr. Burke was elected
Chairman of the National Maritime Security
Discussion Agreement. The MSDA is comprised of
officials representing ocean carriers, terminal
operators and operating port authorities. The
organization was charged with developing a strategy
to comply with government mandates to provide new
and improved security measures for North American
ports.
In 1990, President George H.W. Bush appointed
Mr. Burke a U.S. Commissioner of the Panama Canal
Study Commission
